Chapter Ten
My Bentley was finally back in my yard I could give up the rentals. Ray was in jail for possession of marijuana and old fines. He had gotten locked up while we were in Vegas. He’d be gone for at least four months working those fines off. That was a relief of stress knowing that he was locked up. Orlando would be coming down and I wanted to be able to chill without watching my back for Ray.
I had forgotten how attractive Orlando was until he was standing at my front door. He had just made it in town and he’d be here for two days. I don’t know what it was about Orlando, but he made me feel all soft inside. He just seemed like he was easy like Sunday morning. I hugged him and invited him in.
“Wow, this is a nice house,” Orlando said.
“Thanks,” I replied.
I showed him to the guest room and then went back to the kitchen to finish dinner. I wanted to cook something up for myself. I didn’t see the need for a chef on staff, I was never at home. I cooked steak and potatoes and fixed Orlando a plate. He was bound to be hungry after the five-hour trip. He ate then fell straight to sleep. I didn’t bother him and I let him get his nap out. He was up by eight that night ready to drink and talk a little. We talked about some of everything and shared quite a few laughs. Before the night was out Orlando had finally managed to kiss me the way that I had hoped for.
It wasn’t a kiss on the forehead or a kiss goodbye. It was something behind this kiss, this kiss meant something. I had forgotten how being kissed had felt. Orlando was the gentlest man I had ever met. He was affectionate and didn’t mind expressing his feelings. He enjoyed a lot of physical contact and touching and I love an affectionate man. His conversation was strong and deep and he had an alluring aura about him. I could see me easily falling for Orlando, but I couldn’t let that happen. I could enjoy him for a while, but that was it. Orlando was really a good guy. He did all of the right things, and I was the exact opposite. A couple of years from now when I would leave the game behind me, he’d be perfect. It was bad timing but right on time.
Orlando and I had made out for a minute before I asked him to join me in the hot tub. I went and put on a yellow swimsuit. I poured myself a glass of champagne and got into the hot tub. I thought about Orlando and I was hoping that he didn’t ruin this for me. He was such a gentlemen I appreciated that, but I hoped that I wouldn’t be the reason that this ended in sex. I had gotten us this far, I had made the first move.
